Fashion Charcuterie & A Dressing Room Tell-All
Oh, and some really good skincare. | For Your Consideration, Vol. 2
Welcome to B List’s second For Your Consideration post! Today’s roundup features lots of little stories that taste great on their own, but better together. Think of it as fashion charcuterie, with some odes to actual edible fashion in there around topic number three.
I plan to also be in the habit of recapping any standout press previews, market appointments or industry events I attend throughout the week, but given the fact that today’s FYC is already quite lengthy, I’ll keep it short and sweet before we dive in.
Back-to-back busy days often leave me feeling deflated, but it’s as if last week’s calendar was filled with helium, for the opposite was true. At Vince, I took a sneak peak at fall pieces so lovely, I began to resent the recent warm front. The Monica Vinader team hosted a gorgeous jewelry preview at Invisible Collection, a furniture store for the impossibly chic, which only elevated pieces like their stunning and sentimental birthstone necklaces.
Lastly, my pals at Cru of Two invited me for afternoon tea courtesy of March Hare Events, a new bespoke tea party service ideal for those looking to book a party with emphasis on girlhood (and scones!).
With that, I’ll segue into the rest, but before I go — I’m on a press trip in Miami as we speak, and I plan to do a recap next week. If there’s anything about the work/pleasure dichotomy of traveling as an editor/influencer that piques your interest, let me know and I’ll wax poetic with that in mind.
Happy reading, B Listers!
Dressing Room Recap: Tibi
One of the highlights of last week was visiting the Tibi store in Soho to try on some looks and get a feel for the brand’s sizing. I’ve been a fan for some time, but my beloved black Sid jeans are starting to get a bit baggy, so I wanted to size down in a new wash and potentially treat myself to a few other pieces.
There were Pros and Cons to my in-store experience. The Pros included a warm and helpful staff, gorgeous silhouettes and fabrics, versatile but inspiring basics, and generous sizing (I sized down in lots, often taking a Medium in pieces I assumed I’d wear XL in).
The Cons included wanting about a million things, and only being able to justify buying a few. Shopping Tibi comes with an ample dose of sticker shock, but I’d argue investing in a few of their key pieces can help unlock a plethora of styling opportunities hiding in your own closet.
For example, I fell hard for the Oliver Cotton Stretch Tricotine Pintucked Skirt ($695) in Slate Blue denim, and I’ve been wearing it with just about every top in my wardrobe since. The combination of specialty and versatility makes me excited to get creative with it. I also picked up the Indigo Sid Jeans ($495) a size down from my usual, but I’ll definitely continue styling my bigger black pair with a belt, too.
Pieces I left behind and will dream about for quite some time include the Victor Slingbacks ($595) in Baby Blue — I may use my Anatomy of a Splurge checklist to justify these — and the ultimate combo of the Oliver Cotton Stretch Tricotine Pintucked Skirt ($695) and Oliver Cotton Stretch Tricotine Bomber ($795) in Grey Moon. I firmly believe no cooler co-ord exists.
Also, a special shout out to the pink Light Weight Cotton Nylon Easy Tuxedo Shirt ($445), which I thought I’d hate, but absolutely adored. Why wear a white button-down when you can wear the ‘80s prom dress equivalent?
Brooches and Baguettes
The “B” in B List has two additional meanings today, and the first is “B” for brooch. Brandon Maxwell’s Fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection lives rent-free in my mind (because it was my first time attending a Brandon show, and because I loved the styling and think about it often). As a result, I immediately noticed the similarities between the coat from Look 29 of Miu Miu’s Fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection and Look 10 of Brandon Maxwell’s Fall 2023 show. It seems Miuccia liked Maxwell’s use of sparkly silver brooches adorning a great grey coat, and even styled similarly with a crisp white collar and black shoes.
This seeing-double moment for luxe outerwear isn’t the only reason brooches are on my mind. Dare I ask: Is it too late to talk about the Oscars? Pretty much every well-dressed man in attendance donned a brooch or two to spice up an otherwise plain-black-tuxedo-heavy carpet. Think Simu Lee in Fendi and Coleman Domingo, who wore custom Louis Vuitton with David Yurman jewels and a brooch-adorned bow tie. There was also Cillian Murphy’s atomic bomb-inspired brooch by Sauvereign, and Ke Huy Quan with a Cartier Brooch fastened to his made-to-measure Armani suit.
Oh, and Bradley Cooper’s mom with a big brooch of her own, because why should men ever have all the fun? (They shouldn’t). I’d link a few brooches, but I’d rather impress upon you that the very best ones are hiding at your local flea market or thrift store. When it comes to lapel-wear, go old and go bold.
Over on the runway, Marine Serre showed a brooch-coated couture catsuit to close out its Fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection, but it’s the other “B” on today’s menu that I’ll remember most from the show: the humble baguette! Designers seemed to favor a pedestrian take on accessories this season, romanticizing running errands and schlepping bags on the go.
In addition to logo-emblazoned takeout bags, granny carts and coffee cups, Marinne Serre’s Look 32 featured a model touting a baguette wrapped in paper stamped with the brand’s signature crescents. At Undercover, models touted plastic bags filled with evidence of daily routine, from corner store bouquets to bodega snacks.
Between this, the baguettes, and the picnic-inspired Balmain bags I’ve find myself daydreaming about often, I’m starting to wonder: Is everyone in fashion eating charcuterie together without me?
In Pursuit Of: A Face Card That Never Declines
I contain multitudes — and by that I mean, I’m prone to acne and melasma, burn easily in the sun, and need skincare/SPF/makeup combinations that will cover up my acne scars without irritating my face or looking cakey while I’m on vacation. Luckily, I’ve found an array of products that will remain in my warm-weather makeup bag moving forward. Below, a recap of why each makes the cut:
Skin Prep
The Supergoop! Daily Dose Hydra-Ceramide Boost + SPF 40 Face Oil ($48) intimidated me at first, but my skin absolutely drinks this oil, so I apply it before my ~official~ SPF whenever I’ll be in the sun. I also use the Coola Refreshing Water Plumping Gel Serum Sunscreen ($48) either before the Supergoop! oil or alone when I don’t want to feel greasy before applying makeup. If you’re oily, go for Coola. If you’re dry, Supergoop!. Combo girlies like myself get the luxury of choosing either or both.
SPF
The above both contain SPF, but my actual sunscreen step includes the Tula Ultimate Sun Serum PentaPeptide Sunscreen ($42) with SPF 50, which I use especially on my melasma-prone areas because it contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, and Dune The Mug Guard Invisible Gel Sunscreen ($27.95), an SPF 30 invisible gel formula that feels great and won’t break me out.
Base
If I want a no-makeup makeup skin tint, the Kosas BB Burst Tinted Moisturizer Gel Cream ($38) does the trick, with copper peptides and a super breathable finish. For daytime glam, the Make Up for Ever HD Skin Hydra Glow Hydrating Foundation ($47) wins, thanks to hyaluronic acid in the formula that ensures it looks glowy and fresh. For a slightly more velvety finish, Polite Society’s More Than a Pretty Face Skin-Caring Foundation ($42) is my new fixation. I mix two shades for my perfect base.
SYSS (Stuff You Should See)
I’m desperate to be a perfume girl. Should we talk more about this? Snif just sent over their Vanilla Vice Eau de Toilette ($65) and it’s the perfect grown-up sweet scent I’ve been lusting after.
I picked up this mug set ($50) from the DVF for Target collection during a press preview last week and it gives me major Jonathan Adler vibes. Available to shop tomorrow on March 23rd. Mark your cal!
A second Target find: I snagged these Antonette Heels ($39.99) by A New Day to wear while in Florida, and I’m infatuated. They come in 3 colors (and a flats version!) and the flowers look extremely luxe IRL. Someone even asked me if they were from Zimmerman, as they have a really similar range of flowery footwear out right now (Exhibit A).
If you’re late to the party, it’s time to discover PH5. Their UV reactive styles and signature wavy hem dresses are stellar, but newer stretchy trompe-l'œil denim pieces are also turning heads. Browse their site and please, LMK if I should buy the Dara Plaid Midi Skirt ($325) in green or red. I like both.

Lol SAME. But got them in pink. Great tip - they are super cute!
I am EMBARRASSED at how fast I ran to buy those Target shoes...got the sandal version in black!
