Happy Tuesday! I went shopping! Welcome to this week’s bonus post for paying B Listers (and a sneak peak for the rest).

Over the weekend, my friend Katie and I trotted downtown on a mission to secure some looks for her upcoming bachelorette trip to Jamaica. We went in search of colorful, elevated pieces — the only catch was that we didn’t want anything we wouldn’t wear after the trip.

There are some brands I end up falling in love with seasonally, and Farm Rio is one of them. I never think to browse their selection in the winter, but the moment its warm, I take a trip to Brazil (OK, to their store on Prince Street in Soho) and stock up. Katie and I both snagged a few pieces there, as well as at Andrea Iyamah’s Bleecker Street shop, where we had the best time chatting with the employees and playing dress-up in the Nigerian designer’s best and brightest.

Below, the pieces that made it off the racks and into my (heavy) shopping bags.

1. The Pink Dress of My Summer Happy Hour Dreams

I’m a big believer in investing in Farm Rio dresses, and the Pink Beach Forest Lenzing Ecovero Viscose Maxi Dress ($285) is the newest addition to my colorful collection. The brand occupies a unique perspective in that its bright and busy prints are special and statement-making, but not so trendy that you can’t wear them over and over. They’re the kind of dresses that make me proud to be an outfit repeater.
