Image of Bella surrounded by various September purchases.

Without question, September is one of my biggest months for spending. Between NYFW prep and transitional weather woes making my closet feel inadequate, I tend to overdo it, reassured by the knowledge that I can always return anything that doesn’t end up working out. But this season, pretty much everything did — great news for my wardrobe, but my wallet? She’s still in shock.

I kid; nothing I snagged this season was all that pricy. In fact, out of the 24 buys below, the most expensive items are still under $100. So hey, there’s that! While I’m not the biggest proponent of going all in on fast fashion, I’m experiencing a shift in which my size and taste are both a bit fluid. So, this month, I focused in on both basics and a few special statement pieces to get me through until I can really hone in on my wardrobe wants and needs going forward. Make sense?

With that, read on for everything I bought (nothing gifted!) and didn’t return this month.

And by the way: If you’re reading this and you’re a paid subscriber, shoot me a message if you’d like to receive a free box of beauty goodies. My PR closet needs a clean-out, and you get first dibs, naturally. (Don’t worry, non-paying subscribers, you’re next!)

Excellent Autumnal Workout Garb From Old Navy

In January, I dropped a boatload of money on workout clothes. Then, I worked out! Now, those clothes are too big, but I don’t feel like spending an arm and a leg all over again. Cue Old Navy with some great sets in fun fall colors.

First up, the CloudComfy High-Neck Longline Sports Bra ($12.49, was $24.99) and Extra High-Waisted CloudComfy 7/8 Leggings ($13.49, was $26.99) in a really pretty evergreen shade. This set will be more of a Hot Girl Walk go-to than a gym staple, as the CloudComfy material is a bit softer than I like for full-on sweat sessions.

For workouts, the PowerSoft line is more my speed, and the Light Support PowerSoft Twist Longline Sports Bra ($18.49, was $26.99) and Extra High-Waisted PowerSoft Twist-Front Leggings ($20.99, was $34.99) have such stylized details. I love the twisted front of the sports bra, and the subtle dip at the waistband of the leggings, which I also picked up in black. I wore this set today, and while the top isn’t the most functional for heavy-duty workouts (I wear a jacket overtop when I train), the look was 10/10.

Goth-Chic Separates From H&M

This might merit a full B List of it’s own in the next few weeks, but reader, get thee to an H&M! Their A/W 2024 collection is extremely strong, and I sussed it all out in person to get a feel for quality and fit. On a quest to find a sheer, ruffled look that felt Chloe, but still me, I landed on the Tie-Neck Chiffon Blouse ($34.99) and Voluminous Skirt ($74.99), two gorgeous separates that might feel overly boho, were they not done in edgy, versatile black.

I also snagged this looks-expensive Snake Chain Necklace ($34.99) (there’s matching earrings, but fair warning, they felt heavy!) and this Sequined Organza Skirt ($49.99), which has that sheer two-layer look that’s been trending on and off the runways.
