I Know An [August Mood Board] Hates To See Me Coming
Our final summer mood board of the season...
This has been, without a doubt, the most slowed-down summer I’ve ever had. After returning from my honeymoon in early June, I had very little travel on my schedule (two short trips to Saratoga and a weekend in Nantucket, that’s all!). It was a seemingly open calendar to fill with…well, ideally nothing. And that’s exactly what I did!
Last summer felt fully anticipatory of my October wedding — I wanted to skip to the good part. This time around, I got to luxuriate in my lack of commitments. Work was steady but not overwhelming. Things were easy.
I say “were” as if there isn’t a full month left to enjoy. And believe me, I’ll be enjoying! I have intentionally placed very little on the docket, although I am of course starting the process of Returning to Real Life come September.
Easing in throughout the month with a little more workload, a little less pool time will help make the transition less jarring when it’s suddenly NYFW and I forget what it feels like to dress up and be perceived.
I was worried August’s board would look too much like July’s, but it turns out I had nothing to worry about. Let’s dive in and break it all down, shall we?
