For Your Consideration, Vol. 7
Featuring new It bags, time-saving beauty products, the perfect track pants, and oh so much more.
Greetings, B Listers — welcome back to For Your Consideration! For newer readers, FYC posts are essentially a smattering of little fashion apps, instead of an entree-level essay about one topic. Sometimes, bite-sized is best!
Today’s musings include a multitude of handbags, pants worth ditching the rest of your closet for, and practical beauty products I’ve been loving to simplify my routine. Oh, and a few things TikTok showed me that I feel compelled to put on your radar, just in case they didn’t make it to your For You Page. FYC > FYP, if I do say so myself.
One thing before we dive in: THANK YOU to everyone who has supported my collab with RPZL. We launched last week to major success, and I’m happy to report that the collection is now on Amazon (soon to be available with Prime Shipping!) for all your impulse-shopping needs. I’m planning to do a few giveaways soon as a thank-you for the incredible response, so feel free to follow me on Instagram if you want to be in the loop.
And now, without further ado, a charcuterie of fashion somethings, presented for your consideration. Bon apétit!
The Only Pants I Care About
My Daily Practice by Anthropologie Full Twist Pants ($88) deserve a special shout out this week, especially as New York’s heat wave blazes on. The thought of any fabric too tight or heavy on my body gives me the ick — but I still need pieces to wear to the gym, run errands, and attend work events. Somehow, I found one pair of pants that works for all three of my main obligations.
The Full Twist Pants are a baggy track style with an almost-Adidas-esque double stripe running down the side — but about halfway through, they go full-on Sandy Liang. The stripe splits into a trio of ribbons you can tie yourself, and the slits in between provide not only a cute cut-out moment, but also bonus aeration on these insanely hot days.
I nabbed both colorways (the classic black and pretty Iris Blue) and have mostly styled mine with white tanks and sneakers, but the coquette bow detail is definitely the kind of thing that can be dressed up, too. When the temperature drops, I plan to pair these with sheer turtlenecks, oversized blazers, chunky clogs and whatever else I can think of. It’s a Buy Now, Wear Forever type of thing.
TikTok Told Me…
I’m not one of those folks who gets all my news from TikTok, but I am someone who enjoys seeing what products make it to my For You Page. This week, highlights included @thefashionbaggage chatting about Bella Hadid getting papped while touting Coach’s pending It Bag, the Brooklyn Shoulder Bag 39 ($495). This is a classic style that reminds shoppers of Coach’s natural grain leather supremacy, and it’s exactly the type of tote I want to slouch around with come fall.
Another TikTok that had me screenshotting and shopping came from@itslucyjones, who cited a few footwear brands she saw on the any chic women of Paris. As a lover of espadrilles, the Flabelus mary janes immediately caught my eye — I love the velvet piping on the Jimenas ($207) and the ribbons on the Rastignacs ($156). The only thing stopping me from Adding to Cart is deciding which scrumptious colorway will suffice as The One for me.
Last but not least, @indyaabrown made some great points in a video analyzing Tiffany & Co’s current status in the luxury jewelry world. Brown made the suggestion that hiring a designer like Hugo Kreit would help Tiffany figure out how to earn the “cool points” they so desperately crave. The photo of Kreit’s Pistil Mega Hoops ($498) sent me down an absolute rabbit hole, and I’m definitely saving up to snag the gold pair once they come back in stock.
Practical Magic
A good beauty product is hardly a rarity, but in an effort to simplify my daily beauty routine, I’ve sought out easy-to-use essentials with witchcraft-level results. Here, three daily go-tos that are as pretty and practical as magic can get.
The K18 AirWash Dry Shampoo ($48) is unlike any dry shampoo I’ve ever used. It sprays out as a liquid, then dries with a powdery finish that sops up oil and leaves hair run-your-fingers-through-it fresh. This is an amazing product for post-sweaty-subway spritzing, and it’s become a staple in my gym bag as well. Fair warning, though — your second-day hair after spritzing might feel a bit dry, so try to time your usage to an upcoming wash day.
I first learned about Sacheu last year during my time in the Ulta Beauty Collective, long before their Lip Liner STAY-N Peel Off Tattoos ($12) went viral on TikTok. With seven shades to choose from, this product stains my lips and lasts all day, making it the perfect base to layer a lip combo on top of (I fill in my entire lip, although others love this as purely a liner). I’ve been debating a permanent makeup lip tattoo for quite some time, but this is definitely holding me over.
I don’t always go for gimmicky skincare, but the Olay Face Cleansing Melts ($9.99) have converted me. These teeny, tiny fingernail-sized squares dissolve under water and transform into a pump of cleanser, and I’m impressed every single time at how well it lathers and cleanses. Another gym bag staple for me, and guaranteed to make it into my carry-on for a few upcoming trips.
Bag, You’re It
PSA to all my handbag lovers: Brandon Blackwood’s Sumer Collection drops tomorrow at noon EST! I’m such a fan of Blackwood’s creative palette, and I love that these bags are as wearable as they are special. And yes, the B Lister in me loves the chunky B hardware — how could I not?
They generously gifted me the Luna Bag ($350) in white (second shown above), but others catching my eye (from L-R) include the Jasmine Bag in Forest Green ($275), the Avi Backpack in Orange ($375), the Jacome Bag in Mint Green ($325), and the ridiculously good Large Duffle in Blue Waxed Denim ($350).
Stuff You Should See (SYSS)
I bought a set from Zara in two colorways, and that’s how you know it’s good. The Zara Linen Pants ($109) + Wrap Vest ($89.90) combo feels extremely luxe for the $200 price tag.
Been thinking a lot about Fossil’s Raquel Gold-Tone Stainless Steel Watch ($170). This one’s for those of us that dream of Cartier, but can’t imagine splurging.
I have a few Tombolo tops, but the 'Teeny-Weeny-Croissantkini' Top ($148) made of 100% Organic Cotton Seersucker just shot to the top of my “not a need, but a want” list.
Marc Jacobs debute some new sunnies, and I fear it’s only a matter of time before the The Wrapped Sunglasses ($175) become a Brat summer staple.
