I Know A [July Mood Board] Hates To See Me Coming
And yet, here we are!
Greetings, Blisters! We are officially entering Peak Summer here at B List HQ, which means I’m constantly unpacking and repacking the same carry-on and tote bag as I drive back and forth from my apartment to my parents’ place down the shore.
Yes, I’m extremely lucky to have a place to escape to when the city gets too hot to bear. Catch me constantly dunking my head underwater until this heat wave passes like one of those old-school drinking bird desk accessories.
Before we dive into the July mood board, the English major in me wanted to share with you a quick little poem from Morgan Harper Nichols, an artist you very likely follow on Instagram.
The notion of “letting July be July” really resonates with me — this year more than ever. I feel calm, and I’m letting the chips fall where they may this season. In fact, I’m not thinking about the chips at all. The only chips on my mind are the Sun Chips I plan to pair with my weekly hot dog and pasta salad dinners.
I’m relaxed! I’m at peace! And I’ll probably regret how lazy I’m being when I get back in the New York groove come September. But frankly? That’s a later problem.
