Ironically, my two biggest priorities for June seem to directly contradict one another.
The first is to lock in. To film more, write more, work more, and really own my power as someone lucky enough to work for herself, determine her own schedule, and make her own rules. Too often, I view key facets of this career as a burden — and while some of my complaints are valid, they simply aren’t helpful. I’ve vowed to enter June with more of an abundance mindset. The Internet is my oyster! My content is the pearl! Something like that.
That said, my second priority is to place intentional emphasis on the mundane. To slow down, do less, and appreciate the little things as they are. I often say that, over the last few years, my life has gotten significantly more boring — and at the same time, far better than when it was excruciatingly fast-paced. Perhaps I can wax more on this in another letter when I feel like getting ~into it~, but for now, I’m eager to delight in daily stillness. It’s the summertime thing to do.
Finding balance between reigniting a passion for my work and allowing myself to indulge in the ease of days off isn’t easy, but I’m definitely blessed to be able to partake in both workworkwork and playplayplay. Especially when the weather’s warm, I’ve got a bridal shower at the end of the month, and Pat and I are celebrating our four year anniversary on the 18th. No matter how much progress I make on my quest for balance, June will be an amazing month.
With that, scroll on for my mood board, and a breakdown of what went into it. Happy summer, Blisters!
My bridal shower happens at the end of this month, so I’ll spend every waking minute before then obsessing over what to wear, maintaining my registry, and so on. (Do you like this dress?) I also want to find my wedding shoes this month, so that Pat and I can spend more time practicing our first dance. We don’t have a song yet, but we’re trying to get more comfortable with basic twirls and dips that could lend themselves to a future tune.
I need to devote some serious time to sniffing. I have to select on a wedding era signature scent! My plan is to spend an afternoon in the Printemps beauty hall tracking down the most beautiful bottles, and selecting scents from there. If I were bold enough, I’d go with my current favorite, CYKLAR’s Sex Musk. It’s hot, but it’s not exactly giving timeless romantic wedding day vibes, now is it?
In addition to prioritizing dinner dates and time with friends in the city, I want to devote brain space to romanticizing nights at home. Often, I fall into the trap of sending emails after dinner until the wee hours of the morning, because I associate being home with being at my computer. Lately, Pat and I are trying to jazz up evenings in with cooking, craft cocktails, and riveting games of Scrabble. I like playing more than he does, but I lose every single time.
Another at-home priority: making coffee. As much as I love the routine of picking up my iced brown sugar shaken espresso on the go, waking up and crafting a little at-home latte is something I’ve begun to look forward to. Especially served in a cute glass. Anthro’s Icon glasses really spark joy. [I might even delve into at-home matcha? What brands do we like?]
It’s espadrille summer, folks. I need not explain further. Stay tuned for a fun roundup of my favorite pairs coming to InStyle this week or next. The red pair pictured are from Tory Burch.
I plan to spend as much time this summer down the shore as possible. I’m a member of a private tennis, beach, and pool club, and this year, Pat joins my membership as my fiancé. That means we’ve got minimums to meet and dues to pay, so I’ll be making the most of it all with my butt in a beach chair. And perhaps even picking up a tennis racket? TBD.
I launched a summery new product with RPZL, the Mini Shelly Claw Clip 2-Pack! I wear-tested some larger metal clips last year, but I found the big versions were just too heavy and didn’t feel good in the hair. We put the idea on the back-burner, and eventually landed on these mini clips for cute half-up moments that are so much better. I couldn’t love them more!
I’ve just received the most glorious package from Vince, and I plan to do a whole letter about their recent offerings. They’ve made getting dressed feel fun again! This checkered look really did it for me.
This really is the summer of the Boat and Tote, so of course, I’m obsessed with Hathaway Hutton’s Boatkins. Just like every other girl in fashion! You won’t catch me shelling out $1.5K for one, but I praise her creativity for coming up with the clever combination. It delights me!
New photo of “Carrie Bradshaw At Desk” to represent writing my Substack just dropped! And I couldn’t love it more. I need to figure out our B List summer schedule to ensure you guys are getting the most premium content. This includes paid partnerships, additional paywalled posts for devout subscribers, and riveting free content for all Blisters everywhere. And perhaps some giveaways?
Along with this, a commitment to posting more on Substack Notes.
’s Good Pairings posts are what first caught my eye on this corner of the app, and I’ve been scrolling ever since. That said, I’ve also loved sharing my own everyday snapshots and looks. Getting dressed up in general is high on my June To Do List. I don’t want to spend another summer wearing holes in my flowy linen pants (love them as I do). There’s dresses to be donned, people, and posts to be made about them. After being ISO a white handbag for my bridal era for months, I believe I’m finally pulling trigger on Bottega’s new Tokyo Bag in Sea Salt. Thrilling!
I’ve put a few of my own TikToks on the mood board to remind myself to better commit to filming on the regular. I fluctuate between wanting to churn out premium content on the reg and wanting to keep things private, and sometimes taking time off from posting makes picking back up again difficult. The thing is, I love to film when I’m in the swing of it, so I just need to open up the camera app and press record. I recently started a series called BrideToB documenting my bridal beauty prep, and that’s definitely been a bright spot on ye ol’ content plate. More content to come!
I think that’s it for me, five days into June. What’s on your mood board and/or To Do List for the month, Blisters? Do tell.

I like your outfit in the first photo, very chic. The outfit states what you want to achieve this month: to be relaxed and have more time for yourself.
Thank you so much for the mention and the kind words about Good Pairings—this truly means a lot! Your Substack was actually one of the first that inspired me to start my own. Your content is always so refreshing, and I absolutely love your BrideToB series on IG. You're doing such amazing work!
