Stuff You Should See
It's not going to get more creative than that, folks, because I'M GETTING MARRIED THIS WEEKEND!
99.999% of the time, my Blisters are my top priority, but this October, my wedding has y’all beat. I’m sorry, but also, I’m proud of myself for finally achieving that sweet, sweet work-life balance I’ve always dreamed of. Let me prioritize and romanticize my reality for a few weeks at the risk of dropping the ball here on Substack — thank you!
Your wedding gift to me is grace as I allow myself a bit of a Bridal Hiatus over the next week or so while I’m off on my minimoon, which is essentially a quick retreat to the Catskills to sleep, hike, snuggle, touch grass, and hopefully get a good massage. I’ll be back with wedding details and, finally, some non-wedding content after that, but if you miss me in the meantime, I’ve been posting a ton of wedding bits over on TikTok, and even some on Instagram, too. [Honestly? I’ll probably be dropping my wedding photos on
Notes before I post them anywhere else. That’s how much of a Notes girl I’ve become.]I have a lot to say about how I’m feeling this week (excited! anxious! overwhelmed! emotional AF!) but given that everything is all about me at the moment, writing a fun little Stuff You Should See roundup that didn’t totally revolve around me was actually a welcome respite.
With that, scroll onward for 12 things I really think you ought to see/shop/screenshot, from bougie new luggage to a cake-scented candle, plus a treasured white layering tee, a purse I may or may not return pending your feedback, and more.
Everything You Need To See, Including:
The completely breathtaking new Away Aluminum Edge Collection, a stellar elevation of the brand’s signature luggage, gifted to me and Pat to take on our minimoon and beyond (big thank you, Away!). We each received a Carry-On ($424) and Large ($525) suitcase, and I went for the Cognac Brown while Pat got Ivy Green. They didn’t ask me to post about these, but they truly deserve a shout out, because wow!
The perfect white tee ($15) for autumn layering, from Uniqlo. It has come to my attention that all knitwear looks 74% more effortlessly cool with just a smidgen of white t-shirt poking out of the neckline, and I’ve been on the hunt to find a substantial enough tee that won’t add a lot of bulk. This is it! Also purchased from Uniqlo last week: the Souffle Yarn Full Zip Cardigan in the prettiest olive green.
The Prinsesstårta Candle ($75) from Flamingo Estate, which claims to smell like my favorite dessert of all time, the Princess Cake at Sant Ambroeus. $75 is steep for a candle, but I’m pretty sure I need to buy this in the name of investigative journalism.
A brand-new iteration of the weighted sleep mask ($68) I love so much, the NodPod. Spoiler alert, this is totally going in this year’s B List holiday gift guide. The original NodPod enhanced my falling-asleep experience in ways I never knew possible, and this mineralized silk version makes me feel a bit better about how many hours I’ve got this thing on my face. 10/10, no notes.
These Satin Pull-On Pants ($68, originally $80) from Abercrombie, which I purchased in-store in two colorways and are apparently a hot seller. Almost everything is sold out online except for the Light Brown, which is really more of a taupe. They’re true to size, very cute, and the most reasonably-priced satin pants you’ll find this season. Also good from Abercrombie right now: this little cinched bomber jacket I got that reminds me of my other favorite lightweight jacket for fall.
These gorgeous Gohar hair combs ($188 apiece), first flagged by Jess Graves of THE LOVE LIST. Imagine sticking one of these sweet little swans into a finished updo for a bit of extra pizzazz? This site is simply the best for little gifts and trinkets that are more whimsical than practical, but somehow manage to be both. Is it wrong to lust after a golden crumb catcher? A lace fruit cover? Sue me!
This non-caffeinated ‘“sleepy coffee” I ordered on TikTok Shop after getting a few too many well-executed targeted ads. The brand is called Moon Brew, and this is essentially a magnesium powder that’s vanilla latte-flavored and a viable alternative to melatonin before bed. It sounds delicious, and I can’t wait to try it when it arrives in the mail. Updates to come.
The new teddy bear print from Vera Bradley that speaks to my inner child. I want the classic oversized duffel ($92, originally $115) so badly, but the girlhood of it all doesn’t really suit my chic new luggage, now does it? I’ve settled on a few of the cosmetics pouches instead (for now). Also, how cute is the mini duffel purse?
The Lassi Lips Staining Long-Lasting Moisturizing Lip Oil ($24) from Kulfi, which has proven longer-lasting than all the K Beauty lip stains I splurged on last month when I was ISO a bridal lip combo. I love the shade Rose, but Sweet seems to be the most popular. Both are lovely.
This probably-not-necessary little jacquard knit triangle from Guest In Residence that I feel would be the perfect finishing touch to virtually any outfit. I love the bandana print, and the fact that it’s reversible! They call it The Wild Rag ($245). [BTW, if you want some GIR cashmere at a discount, they’re having a sample sale in Manhattan this week.]
This faux-fur oversized tote bag ($375) I impulse-purchased at Manière De Voir last week. Should I keep it? It’s insanely oversized in a way that I hope reads camp. It fits a laptop and virtually anything else I could think to put in it, and I had hoped it might be a fun way to lug around far too much stuff in the winter. Thoughts?
Speaking of fluff — these damn Ugg ballet flats ($130) that I swore I’d buy before they sold out everywhere, but I’m already too late. UGG, if you’re reading this, restock! The cozy girlies need you.
Will I be changing my BG (Bella Gerard) signoff to IF (Isabella Fayne) upon my return? Probably not! Regardless, I’ll meet you back here after my bridal hiatus in a week or two. Love you!
x BG

I'm sorry but I vote that you must keep the purse... it's too good & does read camp but also fall chic realnessss!
can’t believe we’re getting content during wedding week! 💐
